Angry Town

Via Andrew comes a list of the 100 "angriest" cities in America.

And where are all the angriest people?

Makes sense, but things have probably gotten better since Michael Eisner left Disney.

Richmond makes the list, too (#65). We're not as angry as Honolulu (effing tourists), but we're a tad more upset than San Francisco.

Must be our lack of cable cars. Or the lingering effects of the "Recent Unpleasantness."

Norfolk makes the list (#80). I blame the Daily Press.

Washington, DC makes the list, too, but only at #25 (less tense than Atlanta, but more chapped than Denver). Well, sharp-edged partisanship does have a price. But at least it's not an Orlando-style powder keg. Yet.

The least angry folks on the list are in Manchester, NH. Live Free or Die...and have a nice day.

"You know what the fellow said: In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they also produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love -- they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock." -- Orson Welles, The Third Man

"The graveyards are full of indespensable men" -- Charles de Gaulle

"Oh, so Mother Nature needs a favor? Well maybe she should have thought of that when she was besetting us with droughts and floods and poison monkeys. Nature started the fight for survival and now she wants to quit because she's losing. Well I say, hard cheese!" -- Montgomery Burns
