A Proposed Tax on the Oldest Profession
Wednesday, June 28, 2006 :::
Or at least the middle men, so to speak, who make it all possible:
[Sen. Charles Grassley] would hit pimps with fines and lengthy jail sentences for failing to file employment forms and withhold taxes for the women and girls under their command. The proposal would make certain tax crimes a felony when the money comes from a criminal activity. “The IRS goes after drug traffickers. It can go after sex traffickers,” he said in a prepared statement.
The post also notes that the IRS already "...conducts lengthy audits of [pimps' and sex traffickers'] lifestyles in order to estimate their incomes from illegal activities and determine taxes due."
Now those audits have to be rather...interesting. Maybe they use Doctor Detroit as a guide?
