Or, Maybe Not

NRO's Jim Geraghty begs to differ on the idea that the GOP is headed for the wilderness in November. And he's got one of those very fun "gotcha" lists of press quotes predicting the GOP's demise since...well...they assumed the majority. And he has this:
The conventional wisdom for three straight cycles has been, “the Democrats’ base is motivated and set to sweep the party to victory.” The GOP’s get-out-the-vote efforts never seem to get the same hype, although they do seem to work effectively.
Wake me the day the story is, “the Republicans are expected to have huge turnout.”
Last November, the story was that the Republican GOTV was going to overcome the Kaine surge and secure a Kilgore victory. Except it didn't.
Unless the GOP has revamped there much-hyped GOTV, then in those handful of competitive House races nationwide, there just might be more change than some are prepared to cope with right now. Heck, even Frank Wolf might have to break a sweat this year.
