Rasmussen: Kaine 49, Kilgore 46

Scott's latest numbers are in, and at least in his poll, Kaine has gained another point...closing in on the magic 50%. A couple of telling points:

...the Kilgore commercials on the death penalty may not have helped his campaign. Eighty-two percent (82%) of Likely Voters say they saw the commercial. Of those who did, 26% said it made them more likely to vote for Kilgore while 36% said they were more likely to vote for Kaine because of the ad.

And this:

Kaine earns 89% of votes from Democrats and has a nine point advantage among unaffiliated voters. Kilgore earns 85% of the Republican votes.

Scott's numbers say the death penalty ads backfired. Fair enough. But to win, Kilgore needs to get more Republicans in his column...and that means conservatives need to suck it up and get to the polls (remember, Bolling and McDonnell are your guys).

Right now, Kilgore's best hope is overwhelming GOTV.
