At Least My Slogan Made the Hill

Via Andrew at the Club for Growth comes this snip on the CfG slogan contest (in which the supreme Ass of Evil, Will Vehrs, snagged a t-shirt for his sloganeering abilities):

After this paper broke the story Tuesday that House Democrats were working on a slogan for the 2006 elections — “Together, We Can Do Better” or “Together, America Can Do Better” — the conservative Club for Growth asked its website visitors for their own suggestions.

Among some of the offerings:

• Democrats ’06: From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.

• Yeeargh!

• We can do bitter better!

• If anyone can outspend Republicans, it’s us!

And the winner of a Club for Growth t-shirt:

Together, we’ll become France.

One of my entries made the cut (#2). And yes, one of Will's does, too (#3).

"You know what the fellow said: In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they also produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love -- they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock." -- Orson Welles, The Third Man

"The graveyards are full of indespensable men" -- Charles de Gaulle

"Oh, so Mother Nature needs a favor? Well maybe she should have thought of that when she was besetting us with droughts and floods and poison monkeys. Nature started the fight for survival and now she wants to quit because she's losing. Well I say, hard cheese!" -- Montgomery Burns

"Don't pretend that you know me...cause I don't even know myself" -- The Who
